From 2013 - 2017, I taught at LEGACY Alternative High School in Hartland, MI. During my time, I have had the opportunity to teach students from all over Livingston County. Students come to alternative education for a number of different reasons, but mostly they have experience struggled in school in some form. It is my job as an educator to help students strive to reach their fullest potential. I do this by showing students I care for them and I help build their confidence in themselves not only in mathematics, but in life. I have gotten this unique opportunity to show the students at LEGACY HS that they are capable of more and can do anything they set their minds to. The teachers at LEGACY make it their mission to help students one-on-one develop into mature, hirable adults, by working with them on skills and traits necessary to become successful. Having smaller class sizes, working one-on-one with students in through their academic struggles, and being your students biggest fan are ways we as teachers help these students find success.
